Grimaldi`s Pizzeria in San Antonio

The service was wonderful! I truly believed they have top quality ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable.

Great pizza. Unacceptable wait times. I had to wait an hour for a pizza after placing my order. If I had waited for a table instead of eating at the bar, it could have been a two and a half hour visit. The problem seems to be that they take more call in orders than they should, although every chair and table in the place was occupied.

We had to wait for about an hour because they had to do something with the coals in the oven. Aside from that food was very good. Pizza was delicious, New York cheesecake was super good. Waitresses was quick and helpful to choose the right item.

Very disappointing. I’ve only been to this location and they were a favorite when first opened. They have really declined though. Their ready times are padded so if you show up when they say, the pizza is cold. My order tonight had barely any toppings. It was a large pizza and I was lucky if a slice had three bites with toppings. This was their last strike. There are too many other pizza places to choose from. Don’t waste your money here.

This last time I went , didn’t have the best experience with my waitress. But none the less this is always a great choice for lunch , dinner date or even for parties

I asked for easy well done. NOT BURNT. I’ve had way better pizza. Actually, I think I’d rather have MOD pizza. And MOD is disgusting. And I waited like an hour. For sh!t. But the Jack and Pepsi, yea they didn’t even have Coke. Was a little heavy on the Jack. That’s the only reason why they got one star. Otherwise I wouldn’t leave no stars. Maybe I’ll come back and give them another try.

Call first to make sure the oven is hot. In Georgia when the pizza restaurant is open they can make pizzas. Showed up at 15:30 and was told is would be an hour before they could cook a pizza.

The best white pizza in town! Thank you, Grimaldi’s, for your consideration in offering white pizza for people who have difficulty with tomatoes. Going to New York City to enjoy white pizza, albeit wonderful, is a bit challenging. You make the best white pizza with spinach and pepperoni! You also make the best Mediterranean salad! But your “small” salad is really a family serving portion! Sincerely, thank you for your consideration.

The best pizza! The Don is absolutely to die for... plan ahead as they do not serve pizza for about an hour in the middle of the day to service their oven.

My family loves Grimaldis and the food is always excellent. However, the service at this location has been HORRIBLE every time we have visited. Although the management is very nice, it does not make up for waiting for more than an hour for food. They always have excuses why their service is slow. It has been incredibly disappointing the last few visits.

I love grmaldis, our waitress was so attentive. They did mess up our pizza and had a replacement on it way in 4 minutes. Nice place to bring the kids or date night. The outside patio is great on a cool night. I think you'll enjoy this place.

Holy Smokes! If you like flavor in your mouth, definitely sink your teeth into these pizzas! Whether you are here on a date, or want to bond with your buds, you'll enjoy the heck out of this place! Drove 40 minutes to order pizza and they told me that I couldn’t order pizza because their pizza oven is shut down from 3:30-4:30pm!!! Your a pizza restaurant why would you shut the oven down?? Very disappointed and so was my family long drive to feed my family what is supposed to be the best pizza in San Antonio. Your restaurant could at least put that somewhere on the website so customers will know there’s no pizza at certain times and I guess that means the restaurant only has one pizza oven.

Great pizza! Love that I don't need to go in to pick up my food. They have an outdoor bar to pick up food.

The pizza there is good,pricey but good for occasional visits. The day we went they were servicing the ovens. This is done daily from 3:30 to 5:30. I realize this must be done but why do both at the same time. There were several other people there also waiting by the door as we were. It took a good five minutes to let us know they could not make any pizza. Everyone left to go somewhere else. Great way to lose business. I will not waste my time going back. There are too many other pizza places as good or better.

They initially forgot to place my order after I called but they made up with it by giving me a great discount I didn't even ask for. The pizza was awesome!

First we were greeted with attitude from the hostess Sam. She was rude and while others were waiting inside she told us to wait outside in the heat! Then we were seated outside with my infant nephew. It was hot we were sweating but we tried to make the most of it. Although our waitress Aubree was awesome....Sam made the overall experience not a good one. She brought out our salads and we told her “THANK YOU” But she said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN RETURN. No “you’re welcome” no nothing!!!! Rude!!!!! Garrett attempted to make our experience better but like I said she had ruined it from beginning. However we remained polite and respectful because that’s just how we are!!! We always go to that Grimaldi’s and the last 2 visits were not pleasant because of Sam the hostess. We are questioning if we even want to be loyal to that location or should we try another place.

First of many visits. Got the Brooklyn Bridge pizza and substituted the pork sausage for spicy chicken sausage. Took about 40 minutes on a Friday evening, not too bad for delicious pizza. Cool NY style vibe with coal fired pizza.

Excellent pizza! We had the caprese starter and the Quattro Formaggi pizza. Nice wine list, but we weren't in a drinking mood.

Went and used my free pizza for my birthday. Everything was excellent. I only wish I could remember my servers name.

Whenever I'm in San Antonio I stop in at Grimaldi's next to the quarry. No matter what ingredients choose the pizza always seem to taste better everytime I go. The customer service is great regardless of what time of day or night and they are very patient. Even when its busy, your pizza is always hot and on time!

Pretty upset. I had tried calling them multiple times and just get hung up on. I called about 8:25pm today and the first two times i called it rang twice and i heard it pick up and heard all of the background noise of the restaurant and then they immediately hung up. The third time i called it rang once and the same thing happened. Thinking they may have been closed i thought i continue driving time the restaurant Online it said it closed at 9 and by the time i got the the restaurant at about 8:50 i realized they were open, and that when i called they just kept picking up the phone and hanging up. Very very disappointing. So instead of placing the order over the phone and having it ready by the time i got there i had to wait an additional 20 min for my order at the restaurant. I would have given a one star but the woman i think her name was lana at the bar did a great job taking care of customers and giving updates on orders to customers waiting outside.

1st pizza was cold. 2nd pizza came 30 minutes later and had plastic in it. They did take off that pizza and gave a 50% discount and remade it but that took another 45 minutes. Not impressed for the price. I give this a 2 star because of the professionalism that they showed over the plastic in the food. If not for that it would have been a 1 star.

Worst pizza. Barely any toppings. I got charged for 2 toppings when were barely any toppings on my pizza. Burnt pizza. I won't be coming back.

The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Service could have been faster but the server was courteous and helpful.

My first visit to a brick oven pizzeria! I with a group and I was impressed with the decor and party seating area! Our waitress was excellent with no complaints of receiving the incorrect orders. The pizza I ordered was tasty and exactly as I ordered. I believe that the pizza oven was a little too hot as the pizzas appeared chard, somewhat. Maybe that is normal however as I stated before this is my first visit! 🙂

Normally Grimaldi’s is great, but not tonight. Got there shortly after 5:30 tonight. Got a table within 30 minutes, and ordered immediately. Took over an hour to get our pizza. They were not putting out pizzas at any of the tables. It looked like they were only serving to go orders. Very poor service from management!

I'm not a big pizza person. In fact I rarely eat Pizza. I was given a gift card to Grimaldi's so decided to give it a try. My husband and I liked it. If all pizza tasted like this I would eat it more often. We got the Margherita pizza. I also got a salad. I forgot which salad I got but it was nice and fresh and it tasted good. Would go back.

I don’t know whether Grimaldi’s is the best pizza in San Antonio but what I do know is that every time I am in San Antonio (a couple of times a year) I always go there for pizza. Which is a lot to be said, considering that I was born and raised it Italy

On only my 3rd visit ever to this restaurant, the pizza was amazingly good! And visiting here on my birthday last night was the best ever. I cant recommend this place enough. Great food and atmosphere. 😊

Called the location today at 2:40pm to see if they were open for dine in as they had not updated this location and it still showed no dine-in. They advised me that yes they are open for dine-in. My wife and I are arrived five minutes later at 2:45 p.m. and they told us that they were stoking and would not be serving any food until 4 p.m. We asked why they had started early as we have been going here for years and accustomed to their stoking process and they said because they did not have any customers they started early to get it over with. It was a waste of our time to drive over here when 5 minutes earlier they could have told us on the phone that they were starting the stoking process and not going to be serving any food. Poor customer service.

Outstanding Pizza and, of course, other main encore dishes. Quick to order, Deliver and Generous Toppings! Choose to eat there or take0 home. Right in the Middle of the Artessa Shopping area with Plenty of parking. I Will Not Hesitate to return to try New Combos! A Tad Bit higher priced than a Pizza Hut but Boy do their Flavors Really Shine and the extra couple of bucks are Well Worth it!!!

The place smells great but I’m a doordasher and I’ve been waiting here almost 30 minutes for my customers food and I’m not impressed sure hope it’s worth the wait.

Delicious food and the service was wonderful! We had The Don pizza (pepperoni, sausage and meatball) and loved it! Highly recommend! On the pricey side but worth it!

Went there for the my Birthday with my family, a total of 15 of us. We were seated within minutes. Our waitress seated us took our drink order. She was very patient nice considering it was quite a few of us. Thank for making my Birthday a great evening and a delicious one at that.🤗🤗🤗😍

I ordered a pizza with Spicy Italian sausage, bacon, ham, and bell pepper. Although it is a little pricy, the pizza tasted great! The wait after ordering is not too long, a lot shorter than last time I was here. The cheese was very good!

Their pizza was not hot and I had arrived earlier than the time given to pick-up my order. It’s as if it was done hours ago. I like the pizza but was disappointed tonight.

I am severely disappointed in the staff at this location. I love the pizza here but the customer service will drive people away. I will personally tell my friends and family of how badly this location treats their customers. I would like to highly recommend to the managerial staff that you have a sit down and discuss what good customer service is and what’s appropriate treatment of customers. I will gladly provide a 20% tip and I don’t ask for much except to not be treated rudely.

My wife and I just spent a lovely evening at Grimaldi’s. The pizza and customer service were excellent! Our server was courteous and gave us multiple updates while we waited for our pizza. Every table at the restaurant was filled, but the the noise level was not overbearing. There is plenty of space to feel comfortable at your table and enjoy your meal even when it’s busy. The pizza at Grimaldi’s is thin crust style. We ordered an 18” Chef’s Selection “The Don”. It was excellent. Especially if you’re a meat lover. Grimaldi’s 18” pizza is a great size for a family of four or two if you’re starving! 😋I highly recommend Grimaldi’s!
